Travis De Lorto
Firefighter/Paramedic
My name is Travis De Lorto I started my career with Crescent Rural Fire Protection District September 16, 2017 working in the capacity as a Firefighter/Paramedic. My interest in the fire service started in 2008 when I was first on scene as a bystander of motor vehicle roll over. After assisting the local fire department, I took up the Fire Chiefs offer to become a volunteer with Crook County Fire and Rescue in Prineville, Oregon. During my nine years at Crook County Fire I worked my way into the student program and graduated from Central Oregon Community College with an Associates of Science degree in Emergency Medical Services in 2014. While I was attending school I also spent five seasons with Bureau of Land Management Prineville district as a Wild Land Firefighter. That was a great opportunity to travel the United States, meet a lot of great people and develop my leadership skills.
My resume also includes working as a Paramedic in John Day, Oregon for a year and a half. There I learned what it took to be a Paramedic in a rural area, much like Crescent. With long patient transport times and helicopter’s not always available, I gained the confidence and skills needed to take care of critical patient for several hours.
In my off time I enjoy spending time with my wife, who also is a Firefighter/Paramedic in Central Oregon, 12 year old daughter and two dogs, Sadie a Border Collie mix and Bonkers a Blue Healer. Some of my favorite pass times include target shooting, reloading and studying Jiu Jitsu with my daughter.
