Open burning guidelines and restrictions for the communities served by Crescent Fire are managed by Walker Range Forest Protection Association (Fire Patrol).

Walker Range Forest Protective Association, formed in 1927 is a private non-profit wildland fire protection organization that provides fire prevention, pre-suppression activities, fire control activities and administers forest law on rural residential, private and public non-member owners, Oregon Department of Forestry, Klamath County and other miscellaneous owners in Northern Klamath and Lake Counties.
